Cosmetic Surgery In Thailand

Thailand is an exotic vacation destination that is also one of the most frequently chosen locations for cosmetic surgery in the world. The Bumrungrad Hospital in Bangkok for example, was featured on the US TV show “60 Minutes” as an example of quality medical care for those combining cosmetic surgery with a travel holiday. The Bumrungrad hospital, which performs all kinds of Thai cosmetic surgeries, is a luxurious place that claims to have more foreign patients than any other hospital in the world offering cosmetic surgery.

Many Thai cosmetic surgeons have trained and / or practiced in the UK or the US. The Thai cosmetic surgery hospitals and cosmetic surgery clinics that specialize in cosmetic surgery for tourists offer specially designed cosmetic surgery recovery rooms that look more like hotel rooms than hospital rooms. The support services for the recovering cosmetic surgery patients include high levels of skilled nursing care, wonderful food, and boutiques within the hospital itself.

The most striking thing about Thailand’s cosmetic surgery is the cost. Cost comparison for common cosmetic surgical procedures in Thailand show a cost for cosmetic surgery in Thailand that is 15% to 25% of the cost for the same cosmetic surgery in the US or UK. Many of the hospitals in Thailand have state-of-the-art technology specifically for cosmetic surgery. Of course, you want more than a glossy picture before you sign up for cosmetic surgery in Thailand, you need to know about your cosmetic surgeon and your cosmetic surgery accommodations. So, you should do your research.

Your Thai cosmetic surgeon should be a member of one or more of the following medical organizations established for Thailand’s cosmetic surgeons: The International College of Surgeons (Plastic or Cosmetic Surgery), The Royal College of Surgeons of Thailand (Plastic Surgery or Cosmetic Surgery), The Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons of Thailand, The Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons of Thailand, and the Thai Society of Cosmetic Dermatology and Surgery of Thailand. You should determine if your Thai cosmetic surgeon is licensed by the Thailand Board of General Surgery and the Thailand Board of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (Cosmetic Surgery). Ideally, you would want to find a Thai cosmetic surgeon who is also certified by the International Society of Aesthetic and Plastic Surgery. You should review your Thai cosmetic surgeon’s vitae and look for training or practice in the UK or US. Although most cosmetic surgeons in Thailand speak English as a second language, you should make sure that you can communicate effectively with the Thailand cosmetic surgeon you choose.

Thailand is a destination for resort vacations in addition to providing cost effective cosmetic surgery. You therefore may want to investigate travel packages that include not only cosmetic surgery in Thailand, but also a recuperation and rejuvenation stay at one of Thailand’s luxury resorts. Because Thailand is located in the tropics, the weather is typically warm and somewhat rainy during the southwest monsoon season from May until September, and drier from November through mid-March.

Cosmetic Surgery In Hungary

Hungary has not been a destination for cosmetic surgery travel until recently because of the challenges and cost of air travel. However, with its entry into the EU in 2004, access to Hungarian cosmetic surgery became considerably easier. Since the public healthcare in Hungary is still evolving to meet the European model, you should select cosmetic surgery from private hospitals and clinics.

The cosmetic surgery available in clinics includes modern facilities administered by internationally trained, English speaking doctors and surgeons. The care available for cosmetic surgery in these private facilities is excellent. Most of the private cosmetic surgery clinics are located in or near the capital of Budapest.

In Hungary all cosmetic surgeons must be qualified and experienced general surgeons before they can specialise in cosmetic surgery. All doctors have to be registered and receive permission to practise from the Chamber of Medicine and have passed cosmetic surgery exams. The individual seeking cosmetic surgery in Hungary should expect their surgeon to be a member of the Hungarian Association of Plastic and Aesthetic Surgeons. It is reassuring to the cosmetic surgery patient to know that Hungarian cosmetic surgeons’ qualifications are acknowledged in the UK, that all clinics and hospitals have to be approved and registered with the government health department and that all doctors have to be registered before they are allowed to practise at a particular institution.

Because of their long association with Germany, you may find that your Hungarian cosmetic surgeon is also a member of the Association of German Plastic Surgeons. In checking the vitae or credentials of your Hungarian cosmetic surgeon, you should also expect them to be members of the International Society for Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery.

Although the costs for cosmetic surgery in Hungary are about 30% of the UK costs, that figure does not include travel and accommodations during your recuperation. When the cosmetic surgery traveler includes all costs associated with their procedure, the total expenditure for cosmetic surgery in Hungary will be about half the cost of the same procedure in the UK. The good news is that you can use your cost savings to treat yourself to a stay in a luxury resort or spa to recuperate from your cosmetic surgery.

Most cosmetic surgeons in Hungary speak English and German in addition to Hungarian. Within the specialized cosmetic surgery clinics, there will also be many people who are fluent in English, as well as other European languages. Not all cosmetic surgery procedures are performed at every clinic. You need to research your cosmetic surgeon beginning with your cosmetic surgery procedure of choice. You will be able to do some investigation of cosmetic surgery in Hungary on your own, but it is strongly suggested that use the services of professionals in cosmetic surgery travel in collecting and analyzing the information on your options for cosmetic surgery in Hungary.

In talking with your chosen cosmetic surgeon or clinic, you need to understand their procedures. You want to know the length of time you are expected to remain for recuperation and follow up and the availability of support services such as nursing care, personal care assistants. Because you will need to remain in Hungary following your cosmetic surgery procedure, you will also want information about residential facilities for you and your family, if they are traveling with you.

Depending on the cosmetic surgery you choose, you may want to enjoy a few days in the city before your procedure. Walks along the Danube or trips to the many museums are better reserved for time before you cosmetic surgery. Following your cosmetic surgery in Hungary, there are several nice hotels including the five star Four Seasons and the Grand Hotel Royal among others that will pamper you and offer the benefits of personal care and spa-like resort. Spring and summer weather in Hungary will be quite pleasant, but the winters are cold with snow on the ground most days.

Cosmetic Surgery In Switzerland

Imagine going abroad for your cosmetic surgery. Switzerland offers a variety of accredited surgeons available to patients interested in having surgery done. People go there because the standards of healthcare are renowned throughout the world in Switzerland. Cosmetic surgery is just one of the types of high quality surgery performed in this small country. Doctors are accredited through the Federation des Medicins Suisses and the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons. Patients will want to make certain their cosmetic surgeon is qualified under these agencies to practice medicine.

Switzerland offers a wide variety of cosmetic surgical procedures, including facial procedures like face lifts and dental cosmetic surgery. Also offered are breast surgeries, liposuction, tummy tucks and other procedures, like leg and butt surgery. In fact, the entire range of procedures is offered in Switzerland. Cosmetic surgery in this country is top of the line with the highest standards of care possible.

Cosmetic surgery should only be done by specially trained and qualified surgeons. At the Clinique Generale-Beaulieu in Geneva, Switzerland, there are seven surgeons trained and fully qualified to do both reconstructive and cosmetic surgery. It is the only private institution for cosmetic surgery in Switzerland where professors regularly operate on patients as well as manage teaching roles. Various guest surgeons, including a maxillofacial surgeon, collaborate on patients there.

Every year, a postgraduate course is held on a specific cosmetic surgery subject and is broadcast to a conference room where Swiss and foreign specialists gather to watch and listen. The clinic specialises in eye and nose surgery, cosmetic and reconstructive surgery, surgery around the ear, anti-aging surgery, breast surgery, lipoplasty and surgery around the abdominal wall.

Cosmetic surgery in Switzerland offers the best of a relaxing environment and top quality Swiss cosmetic surgeons. The surroundings are beautiful and the patient can stay at the loveliest locales while recovering or preparing for cosmetic surgery in Switzerland. Cosmetic surgery requires time for the body to heal after the surgery and it’s best to go somewhere peaceful and tranquil. The accommodations are equally as important as the patient’s choice of surgeon as much time will be spent recovering between doctor’s visits.

The patient should get at least three quotes from qualified surgeons in cosmetic surgery. Switzerland offers plastic surgeons in Bern and Zurich and quotes should be gotten from both areas. Look for accreditation through the Federation des Medicins Suisses and the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons and get price quotes which can differ depending on the surgeon and the hospital involved. For the most well-informed and worry free experience, look for English-speaking surgeons who can explain the cosmetic procedure to you.

Cosmetic Surgery In Brazil

There has been a lot of publicity around taking a trip to Rio de Janeiro for cosmetic surgery in Brazil. It is the perfect place to go for inexpensive, high quality cosmetic surgery, particularly for things insurance doesn’t cover. In some cases, cosmetic surgery in Brazil is less than a fifth of the cost of the same procedure in the US or the UK. Women from the United States, Europe and other rich countries with high medical costs have been flocking to have their cosmetic surgery in Brazil.

There has been at least a 10 to 20% increase in foreign patients to Brazil’s cosmetic surgeons since 2004. Multiple television news shows in the United States have reported on the so called “beauty and the beach” trail to Rio de Janeiro. There has been the presence of a cottage industry of travel companies that specialize in what is commonly known as “lipotourism”. These places offer combination packages of flights, hotel rooms, personal attendants and surgery for those interested in enjoying their surgical and recovery time in luxury.

Price is the biggest incentive for those patients interested in Brazilian cosmetic surgery. Depending on the rate of exchange, the total expenditures for cosmetic surgery in Brazil run from a third to a half of what the same procedure would cost in the US or the UK. Many patients save $10,000 to $30,000 per procedure by going to Brazil for cosmetic surgery. The most advantageous thing about Brazilian cosmetic surgery is that it offers world quality services at a fraction of the cost. It even boasts a procedure named after the country: The Brazilian Butt lift.

When booking a cosmetic surgery through one of the surgical vacation centres, one can expect to be met at the airport by a bilingual guide who will conveniently arrange all of the logistics of lodging and transfers to and from the hospital. All of the nurses are bilingual and the patient will be attended to by bilingual aides during their recovery in their hotel rooms or at short-term apartment rental units after their release from the hospital. The average stay for an entire Brazilian cosmetic surgery getaway is around two weeks.

The spearhead of cosmetic surgery in Brazil is Dr. Ivo Pitanguy. Considered the master of cosmetic surgery, he is a Brazilian celebrity. Known as the father of modern cosmetic surgery, the 79 year-old surgeon has had a number of rich, famous clients, such as Sophia Loren and Gina Lollobrigida. He runs a complete three year graduate specialisation course in Brazilian cosmetic surgery. A diploma from this program is an absolute must for every practicing cosmetic surgeon in Brazil. In addition to reviewing educational certifications, clients should check with the organisations like the Brazilian Society of Plastic Surgeons and the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons to make certain their surgeon is accredited to practice cosmetic surgery in Brazil.

Cosmetic Surgery In Argentina

Cosmetic Surgery in Argentina is fast growing in popularity. Argentina boasts a healthy medical care system with doctors capable of helping you enjoy a trip to this large Latin American country along with having cosmetic surgery. By having their cosmetic surgery in Argentina, patients can enjoy facial surgery, liposuction, breast surgery and abdominal surgery, as well as surgery for birth defects. As a tourist location, Argentina offers many sites for travelers to visit, both in and around Buenos Aires and beyond.

The quality of Argentine medicine is renowned world wide. Its physicians undergo a long training process that extends beyond graduation. In order to be able to practice medicine, the newly graduated physicians must pass an exam that entitles them to a two year internship in public hospitals. The physician must also carry out academic work that leads them toward their specialization. The credentials in specialization must be renewed periodically and guarantees that the specialist remains updated in his or her field.

The prices for cosmetic surgery in Argentina are quite reasonable. For a face lift, including a 9 night stay, the cost is about £1590. The cost of a medium face lift and a neck lift is around £2070. The cost of a complete face lift is a twelve night stay and a price of £2280. An otoplasty is £1010. This involves changing the ear shape and contour. A blepharoplasty of the upper or lower lids costs the same. A rhinoplasty is slightly more at £1270. Chin and cheek implants cost about the same as an otoplasty or a blepharoplasty. A breast augmentation using silicon implants involve around £1800. An abdominoplasty costs £2125. The cost of a liposuction depends on how much fat is removed and where it is removed from.

The Advantages of Cosmetic Surgery in France

There are many reasons to visit France and one of them is for quality cosmetic surgery. Just a short trip across the Channel, and a brief train ride, can take you to any number of cosmetic surgery destinations in France. The quality of cosmetic surgery medical care in France is excellent. Hospitals and clinics are staffed by physicians trained in all aspects of cosmetic surgery. The cost of cosmetic surgery in some clinics may be significantly less than in the UK. However, lower cost should not be your only reason to select cosmetic surgery in France.

France’s cosmetic surgeons have received a level of training commensurate with cosmetic surgery training in the UK and US. In addition to four years of medical school and in-hospital training, specialists in cosmetic surgery in France must do well in a national competitive examination in order to qualify for additional training in medical specialties such as cosmetic surgery. The internship for a cosmetic surgeon in France is typically four or five years with additional training available in special techniques and procedures. Following training, the French cosmetic surgeon is awarded a Diplôme d’Études Spécialisées Complémentaires (DESC) and may also have a Specialised Studies Diploma after another twelve to eighteen months of study. The DESC, combined with a short thesis in medicine, leads to a nationally recognised Diplôme d’État de docteur en médecine (MD). You should expect your French cosmetic surgeon to be qualified in general surgery and plastic surgery. For some facial cosmetic surgery procedures, qualification in Maxillo-Facial Surgery is desirable.

In finding and scheduling your French cosmetic surgery and travel holiday in France, you may have some difficulty in finding information on the web because French law views websites as advertising rather than information services. You can, of course, begin your search for information on the internet, especially if you know a surgeon through reference from your personal care doctor or friends. However, you may find it more effective to work with an organization knowledgeable about specific clinics and practitioners in France. A word of caution: Although your French cosmetic surgeon is likely to speak English, that may not be true of all hospital or clinic personnel.

Once you have made preliminary choices on which French city for cosmetic surgery and perhaps have identified potential French cosmetic surgeons, you should request information about them. Check the French cosmetic surgeon’s vitae and any publications offered about the cosmetic surgery procedure you wish. Because of the easy travel between France and the UK, many French cosmetic surgeons travel frequently to the UK for initial cosmetic surgery consultations. Get information from the French cosmetic surgeon or French cosmetic surgery clinic about their experience with your chosen procedure. Ask about recovery and about the availability of hospital services, if needed. Be sure you are completely comfortable with the French cosmetic surgeon before you formalize your plans for cosmetic surgery.

In planning your cosmetic surgery travel to France, try to allow yourself a few extra days to enjoy the attractions of the country. Whether you choose the night life of Paris or the beauty and peace of the Cote d’Azur for after your cosmetic surgical procedures, you can enjoy a wonderful holiday.

A Taste Of Cosmetic Surgery In Singapore

Along with the wealthy patrons from Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia, westerners are increasingly coming to Singapore for their cosmetic surgery procedures. Singapore cosmetic surgery is among many medical procedures and treatments that those in nearby countries are able to afford go for in this lovely cosmopolitan location. Many of the doctors have had some training in the US, Australia or the UK and visitors should look to make sure their physician is accredited by the Singapore Medical Board under the Singapore Ministry of Health.

A wide variety of cosmetic procedures are available through the clinics of Singapore. Cosmetic surgery can include skin procedures like chemical peels and laser treatments, facial surgeries, including rhinoplasties, otoplasties, and face lifts, and procedures on the body like liposuction, abdominoplasty and body contouring. All of the procedures are state of the art and are offered at a reduced cost to those done in the western countries.

Cosmetic surgery has been commonplace in Singapore for quite some time but only recently has Singapore cosmetic surgery taken hold as a contributor to tourism in the area. Many feel that Asia, in particular, has caught up with popular cosmetic surgery destinations such as Beverly Hills in the US.

As a vacation spot and place for medical procedures of all kinds, having westerners come for cosmetic surgery is becoming more commonplace. Some doctors state that 75% of their business comes through medical tourism. Tourists can spend a fair amount of time in Singapore. The average length of stay, including surgery, is about fourteen days. Patients are allowed to relax in plush Singapore surroundings as they recover from their procedure. The most common procedures are eye procedures, nose procedures and breast augmentation or reduction. Many of the local hospitals are completely set up to receive cosmetic surgery visitors. They offer aesthetics centres especially for cosmetic surgery. Almost all of the facilities are private hospitals with accredited surgeons who primarily see foreign clients. Many doctors are accredited through the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons; the hospitals boast a professional team of plastic surgeons, dermatologists, dentists and aesthetic practitioners provide a broad spectrum of aesthetic services, cosmetic surgeries, cosmetic dentistry as well as programmes for weight management and anti-ageing. Some hospitals also offer specially-developed facial and massage therapies that support the clinical aesthetic treatments and pamper their clients.

There is one public government hospital that does cosmetic surgery in Singapore. Costs are less when undergoing surgery at a public government hospital. Cosmetic surgery in Singapore, regardless of the location is part of the highest degree of quality in medicine offered by Singapore cosmetic surgeons.

Breast Enlargement Surgery - Types Of Breast Implants

There are a number of different techniques currently being practised by cosmetic surgeons during breast enlargment surgery, and these are likely to vary by the individual cosmetic surgeon and their preferred method, as well as the unique characteristics of the individual patient.

One issue that is commonly discussed by patients considering breast enlargement surgery is the actual placement of the breast implant itself, and whether it should be placed between or on top of the muscle. Both techniques are used during breast enlargement surgery and below we give an overview of both techniques used, looking at the pro's and con's of each.

Subglandular, or 'over the muscle' sees the breast implants being placed above the pectoral muscles and below the breasts mammary gland. The main advantages of this type of breast enlargement surgery are that it is seen as a less complicated procedure, with a shorter recovery period. The reason for this being that the procedure does not include the muscle.

However, with this type of procedure there is an increased risk of capsular contracture and there is also a risk that the implant may cause a visible rippling as there is no muscle seperating the breast implant and the skin.

The second technique commonly used is known as subpectoral or 'under the muscle.' This method sees the breast implant placed underneath the pectoralis major muscle for the majority of the implant (it tends not to cover the lower part of the implant). This placement method does have a lower risk of capsular contracture, and there is a decreased risk of visible rippling through the skin due to the intervention of the muscle.

It should be noted however, that the subpectoral method of breast implants can produce a less natural look in women who have experienced sag in their breast tissue, and rippling can potentially still be seen around the lower part of the breast.

Jane Seymour Admits To Having Cosmetic Surgery

Bond girl Jane Seymour admits to cosmetic surgery after 11 yearsJane Seymour has admitted that she had breast implants before going topless for a hit comedy film - reports the Mail On Sunday.

The 56-year-old British-born actress has frequently denied having plastic surgery, insisting that the figure she famously displayed in the 2005 comedy Wedding Crashers was entirely due to her 'genes' and a 'sensible' diet. In the film she played an older woman, which involved the first topless scene of her career as she seduced young actor Owen Wilson.

But in an interview being published in America next week, she reveals that after giving birth to twins 11 years ago, she decided to have implants, although they were unusually small by Hollywood standards. "My plastic surgeon had to special order them," she told People Magazine. She discloses that she also had a 'minor' eyelift. She said: "It was more than a decade ago.

Genetically, I had baggy eyes and photographers said they didn't want to spend money endlessly having to eradicate them." Ms Seymour, who became a US citizen two years ago, first came to public attention in 1973 as Tarot-reading Bond girl Solitaire in Live And Let Die

Cosmetic Surgery In Prague

Prague has long been considered a centre for cosmetic surgery excellence, and every year, large numbers of people from the UK, France, Germany and other destinations decide to undergo their cosmetic surgery in Prague.

There are two main reasons for this growth in the cosmetic surgery industry in Prague. Firstly, cosmetic surgeons in Prague undergo a rigourous training schedule, which can see a cosmetic surgeon in Prague training for approximately ten years before they are allowed to practice. The result of this is that today there are a number of highly skilled, experienced cosmetic surgery clinics in Prague, offering a standard of cosmetic surgery often far in advance of what the individual would be able to receive at home.

The second reason for the increase in cosmetic surgery in Prague is the increased accessibility of Prague from the majority of other major European destinations. Today, cheap flights to Prague are available from destinations such as London, Paris and Frankfurt, and can cost as little as $150 - $200. These cheap flights to Prague, coupled with the lower costs of the cosmetic surgery procedure, result in the overall costs being considerably lower than in their home country.

Breast Enlargement Surgery

Breast Enlargement surgery, otherwise known as a breast augmentation, is one of the most commonly performed cosmetic surgery procedures in the United States today, and recent years have seen huge increases in the numbers of women who have had breast enlargement surgery. Whilst breast enlargement surgery was once seen as the preserve of the rich and famous, this type of surgery has nowadays become increasingly accessible to the everyday woman on the street.

These lowering in costs for breast enlargement surgery, coupled with the medical developments in breast enlargement procedures, have seen consistently increasing numbers of women in the United States choosing to have their breasts enhanced surgically.

The main reasons that women choose to undergo breast enlargement surgery are due to the individual already having smaller breasts, or through a decrease in the size of their breasts following childbirth.

It is widely acknowledged that having smaller breasts can have a detrimental effect on self esteem and the confidence of the individual, with knock-on effects such as affecting the type of clothes that the individual feels they can wear. Many women find those feelings of self confidence and feminimity are regaining following breast enlargement surgery.

In our blog, we will also be covering the various different type of breast enlargement surgery available, as well as looking at other issues including the risks involved, and the associated cost of breast enlargement surgery.

Cosmetic Surgery Abroad - Your Cosmetic Surgery Overseas

Recent years have seen a trend for increasing numbers of individuals from the United States choosing to have their cosmetic surgery abroad in destinations such as Panama, Costa Rica, Brazil and Argentina. This despite the majority of people in the United States living in relatively close proximity to a cosmetic surgery clinic, the majority of whom offer exceptionally high standards of cosmetic surgery.

There are a number of factors contributing to this increase in cosmetic surgery tourism, including the changing demographic of the United States population and the increasing accessibility through decreasing travel costs. However, without doubt, the most important factor in this increase in the numbers of people seeking to have their cosmetic surgery abroad, is the large difference in the cost of the actual cosmetic surgery procedure itself.

Here at Ucompare Cosmetic Surgery, we will cover the various markets which offer cosmetic surgery procedures outside of the US, and provide you with in-depth analysis of the opportunities for cosmetic surgery in that particular country. We will look at both the pro's and the con's of all the markets, to help you make the most informed decision possible on your cosmetic surgery procedure.
